Police in the UK and The Netherlands were involved in the operation June 11, 2008 Web User Police in Wales will today appoint the UK's first sergeant with special responsibilities to tackle internet crime. The 'e-sergent' will be joined by four 'e-detectives', one for each of Wales' four police forces in September. Figures reveal that internet crime cost Welsh business £294m last year, or almost £100 per person.

Majors Wants To Have Their MySpace And Eat It Too by Moses Avalon, Just when you thought it was safe to get back in the music biz, Universal Music reminds us that it's never too late to alienate allies. MySpace was bought by News Corp for $580 million, and now UMD wants to take just about all of it. They claimed MySpace as "a vast virtual warehouse for pirated copies of music videos and songs," and is suing for close to $1 Billion.

There are thousands of music pages on MySpace and according to recent accounts, A&R people are now using it as a significant resource to discover new acts. Case in point: UK band Arctic Monkeys, were "discovered" through MySpace even though they claimed publicly that their MySpace page was unauthorized, set up by fans and that they were not even aware of their own page's existence.
