"Mariana Bell has what many people I have come across say is missing from much of the music these days - passion. Whether it's an old jazz record, a new jazz artist, rock from the kids down the street or the Cream reunion concerts, good ole fashion honest passion is the thread running through all great music, be it primitive or mind-boggling in its sophistication. Ms. Bell has that in spades." Mark Kirby, MusicDish

Mariana was recently nominated for two major west coast music awards. She was nominated 'Best Female' at the 2nd Annual Inland Empire Music Awards (IEMAs), presented by radio station X103.9 FM and the producers of the Orange County Music Awards (OCMA) at Morongo Casino Resort and Spa¹s new Key Club. She has also been nominated 'Best Out of Area' at the First Annual Southern California Music Awards (SCMA) being held on February 11, 2006, at the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro. The Australian-born, Charlottesville-raised Mariana Bell has been a fixture at such popular New York venues as Caffe Vivaldi, Laila Lounge, The Bitter End, CBGB's and The Living Room. While her debut record, Dream of Italy, has been a consistently strong online seller through CD Baby, her more recent work branches out from her folksier roots, weaving elements of rock, jazz and country together with her trademark hook-filled melodies and evocative, passionate vocals. While critics have likened her music to that of a young Joni Mitchell, Mariana counts among her own influences Shawn Colvin, Bruce Cockburn, Dave Matthews, and Ani DiFranco. http://www.marianabell.net http://www.myspace.com/marianabell http://www.cdbaby.com/marianabell
