Culver City, CA-March 23, 2010- Marshall Blonstein and Audio Fidelity has come up with another phenomenal double shot of classic music for fans of audiophile discs again.
Simon and Garfunkel’s voice of maturity and the modern world they were so deeply entrenched in 1966 reached its fruition on their folk pop classic Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme. The numbered collector’s 24 Karat Gold CD is set to make its debut on March 30th and is certain to sell out very quickly.
Never has there been a more influential duet in modern music as Simon and Garfunkel nor has there been one since and this particularly recording cut a clear path for every poet with a guitar that had aspirations to be a music star.
The album articulately and compellingly revealed how Paul Simon's broadening horizons as a writer and the duo's emerging studio perfectionism was coming to its apex. Their seemingly clairvoyant and poetic yet cynical view of their times brushed a broad stroke on the human canvas that reached millions of people. With this stunning reissue re-mastered by Audio Fidelity, it fulfills all of its original intent and brings to light the simplistic yet full bodied craft of the legendary duo.
On the other side of the musical universe came bands creating an everlasting imprint in blues rock. One of those trail blazers was England’s Deep Purple. There are many critics and fans alike that consider the 1972 release of Machine Head to be their finest effort. And indeed it proved to be their most successful release monetarily for the band spawning huge hits and concert favorites like “Smoke on The Water†and classic metal blues as “Highway Star†and more heavy straight ahead rock and blues tunes such as the memorable “Lazyâ€.
The classic lineup of Deep Purple included such legendary figures as Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Jon Lord (keyboards), Ian Gillan (vocals), Roger Glover (bass) and Ian Paice (drums). Machine Head set the standard for the metal genre and Audio Fidelity’s 24 Karat Gold reissue recently released on March 16th reminds of us of who the kings of metal where in the early 70s.
Although it was recorded at the Grand Hotel Montreux, Switzerland in December 1971, you would never know on this newly released version. Audio Fidelity is the resident expert with their special re-mastering process minimizing any flaws and maximizing the highlights of rock classics like no other reissue label.
Stay tuned for many more fantastic reissues this year from Audio Fidelity and grab your copies of these rock classics now while they are still available.
