New York, New York-August 4, 2009 Chris Pasin’s love affair with the trumpet began at the age of nine. After many years of frustration trying to survive as a creative musician he left music to take on different occupations to support his family. As his family grew they gradually pulled him back into music by picking up instruments and reenergizing the artist.
Now after a long waiting period Pasin’s solo album Detour Ahead will finally make its debut on H20 Records on September 9, 2009. The album was recorded on May 18, 1987; and features the late great Charles Mingus with drummer Dannie Richman.
Detour Ahead features Pasin on trumpet, the versatile Steve Slagle (alto and soprano sax, flute), Benny Green (piano), Rufus Reid (bass) and Danny Richmond (drums). Besides the fluid trumpet of Pasin leading the way the superlative support of his band mates helped the recording session to become true success in every way.
Detour Ahead features five Pasin originals such as “Lost and Foundâ€, “Jackhammerâ€, and others along with the classic Rogers and Hart tune “My Romanceâ€. The nine tracks comprising the CD are a sure bet to hit the contemporary and smooth jazz charts with significant impact and jazz listeners around the world will find great appreciation for this new instrumental work of art.
Detour Ahead will be available from H20 Records, iTunes, and Amazon.com. More information on the release will be available on the Chris Pasin Myspace page and the H20 Records website.
