Dead Copycats Win Indie Spotlight On MuzikReviews.com
New York, NY - February 2, 2009-The Dead Copycats are a talented rock band hailing from New York City. The indie band recently entered a contest put on by MuzikReviews.com through Sonic Bids and found themselves the winners amongst a strong field of candidates. The band was featured as the site’s pick of the week and they received a rave review that was syndicated through many sites to promote their self titled CD.
Although the band derived their name from a Charles Mingus quote, a listener may come up with their own interpretations. One thing that is a sure bet, anyone with a desire to find themselves immersed in a great indie rock sound propelled by raw emotion and sweat will find the Dead Copycats are a round trip destination to a rockers paradise.
On their debut Jessica Braun (vocals), Will Rossano (guitar), Angela Webster (drums), and Jay Foote (bass) put together a forceful statement that will surely garner some attention from music fans and critics alike.
The most important rule the band agreed on upon their consummation was that everything would be tracked live using only the four instruments they played live. The goal was to recreate the experience of sitting in a room with four exceptional performers playing the music they loved. Their ultimate mission was accomplished on their first recording.
A sound engineer at a venue last year said this of their music: "It's as if Elvis Costello wrote songs for a band with Jimmy Page and Debbie Harry".
With a bright future ahead and an exciting debut album about to break, the Dead Copycats are positioned very well in the indie community.
