Charmaine Clamor Releases A Filipino Serenade on FreeHam Records
Hailing from the regional town of Subic-Zambales, Charmaine began her singing career at age 3, entertaining passengers in the back of buses traveling to Manila. As time passed in her childhood, Charmiane provided a complement to her mother on piano as she sang kundiman (Filipino torch songs) and English classics. It was those fond memories that inspired her love of the Great American Songbook.
My Harana: A Filipino Serenade is Charmaine's second consecutive album to make the World Music Top-10; her 2007 release Flippin' Out appeared on the charts for 16 weeks. Her new release prompted columnist Gordon Murray to comment, “For anyone interested in uniquely cool music and if you're up for a world-jazz cultural and educational seduction, My Harana is a must-have."
