Post progressive/world fusion band ANUBIS SPIRE is pleased to announce that songwriter, composer and keyboardist David Sweet has joined the new lineup for the recording of their long delayed second CD: CHILDREN OF A FOREIGN FAITH. Dave not only brings to the band his formidable keyboard skills, but his considerable experience in independent music production.
David comes from an eclectic musical background which has included forays into space music, electronic, progressive rock and even a stint in a hard-core punk band. He has released two self-produced CDs of instrumental space music for ELECTRONIC MUSIC RESEARCH LABORATORIES, his own company. He and ANUBIS SPIRE lead guitarist Bill MacKechnie had previously worked together on musical projects at Bill's infamous barn-slash-recording complex, RANDOM BULLET STUDIOS, in the early nineties. In addition to providing the keyboard tracks for the band, Dave will be working along with Bill on the arranging and production of the new material.
He joins the band at a great time. ANUBIS SPIRE is currently enjoying increasing media attention for their recent work on independent movie and DVD soundtracks like, "LED ZEPPELIN: The Making of a Supergroup", for the UK's CHROME DREAMS company. Their debut CD "Old Lions (in the world of snarling sheep)" continues to be added to radio playlists, countless stores and digital download sites around the globe.
Due to personnel problems the long awaited follow up to "Old Lions" has gone through a painfully slow evolution while Bill searched for the right musicians to bring the revised CHILDREN OF A FOREIGN FAITH project to fruition. Now that David has joined the band, the recording of the new album is well on it's way and a release date for the album will be announced within the next few months.
