Finally Justice For All
A new album from the enormously popular French electro duo Justice is set to drop around the world this month!
Justice is a name the dance world has learned to cry with passion in clubs and a band whose first album has been awaited with bated breath ever since the French duo revolutionised dance floors with two radically different hits. First came the housey and uplifting ³Never Be Alone,² followed up two years later by the striking and screeching ³Waters of Nazareth.² The new album is titled simply 'Ã' and will be released from Ed Banger in Europe, Australia, Singapore, and Japan mid June, and US and Germany in July.
As children of the French Touch, Justice has thrown the established rules out the window and has found a fantastic talent for synthesising and mixing their influences with total candour. The album is a kind of musical opera marked with religious and baroque symbols, where the melodies are ripped to shreds by the beats, where electro teaches rock a lesson, and where pop gets a botox injection.
A snippet of the new album can be found on their website, but to really feel the magic that is Justice, a live show is a must. Dates to perform all over Europe, the UK, and even some in Japan have already been set, and more are to be determined. Catch them if you can and taste a little Justice!
It's A 'Pop Life' For David Guetta
After a 3 year break, the pioneer of French house music David Guetta gets ready to release his third studio album.
After being named French DJ of the year in both 2005 and 2006, David Guetta dazzled us with his smash hit 'Love Don't Let Me Go.' The single sold 2 million copies worldwide and hit #9 on the Billboard Euro Hits 100 chart.
This latest album is entitled 'Pop Life,' will include the single and 'Baby When the Light,' and is scheduled to drop June 18th. The first hit single off the album, which was produced by Steve Angello and Fede Le Grand, is 'Love is Gone,' featuring the same vocals as 'Love Don't Let Me Go,' and is receiving a warm welcome in dance clubs throughout.
If that wasn't enough, Guetta is scheduled to play more than 100 shows around the world over the summer months. He has already hit some of the world's top festivals, like the celebrated Coachella in the States and Skol Beats in Brazil, and, thankfully for us, he's not planning to stop anytime soon!
Another Major World Disc From Idir
A new album entitled 'La France des Couleurs' (France of the Colors) will be released this month by the Algerian artist Idir.
A major figure in the world music scene, Idir has been composing, penning lyrics, and interpreting music for over 30 years. Earlier albums include 'Identités' (Identities), which sold over 200,000 copies, and the ³best of² compilation 'Deux Rive, un Rêve,' which sold over 100,000 copies.
This new album sets itself apart with amazing collaboration pieces and mind blowing lyrics. Here, Idir plays with some of the hottest names in the French hip hop and R 'n B scenes, including Akhenaton, Daniel Manu and Guizmo (of Tryo), Nâdiya, Noa, Oxmo Puccino, and many more. This album truly is Idir's masterpiece!
The first single off the album is 'Je viens de là ou l'on m'aime' (I come from where I am Liked), featuring Féfé and Leeroy from the Super Saïan Crew. The album can already be found in Belgium and Switzerland, with many more countries to come. Plans are currently underway for a major concert that would feature all the artists seen on this project! The show will take place sometime in October at Zénith in Paris, and will be followed by a tour by Idir, stopping all over France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, and Canada.
