Radio Gets Wild welcomes Lauren Adams' Artist and CD review

Shaped by life's inconsistencies and emboldened by the brighter prospects that tomorrow always seems to offer, singer/songwriter Lauren Adams touches both our soul and our hearts with her observations and music. At the root is Americana, a fusion of rock, country and blues, sung passionately and beautifully by an artist who's been there, done that and is ready for new challenges

Her debut CD, "Here Tonight," was critically acclaimed, capturing a new legion of fans, kudos by her peers and top ten chart notices. Now with her follow-up "Thirsty" CD release, Lauren literally leaves listeners "thirsty" for more - and for a performer with so much to share, more is never enough.

Her career has encompassed improvisational comedy (she is a funny, funny lady), backup singer, record retail buyer, advertising and talent agency administrator, and a director and casting agent. But that voice and music was always there, as she continued to play small venues and clubs (including stints at Nashville's legendary Bluebird Caf), usually filled with local musicians and friends who urged this talented lady to take it to the next step.

"I was driving up Fairfax Ave. one day, with a lyric and melody running around in my head, and that's when I started writing music again," she said. She did and it was a torrential outpouring of material- Walking Wounded, Don't Look Away, El Milagro, Wild Blue Yonder, Fairweather Friend, Here Tonight, Love Is An Action, and My Turn.

A litany...a lifetime.

A year in the making- buying studio time off hours, relying on friends and fellow musicians who believed enough in her music to sit in, and a producer's unwavering faith and support-- "Here Tonight" is undeniably Lauren's Turn.

Epilogue: LOS ANGELES, CA- July 10, 2001- "Thirsty", the long-awaited follow-up CD to local LA artist Lauren Adams' critically acclaimed "Here Tonight" CD, is being released this week through My Turn Productions, owned and operated by Lauren Adams. Produced by Ms. Adams and musician Phil Settle, the 11 track "Thirsty" is a compilation in the Americana tradition, ranging from the Memphis Blues to Country Rock.
