What is Twitter & What you can do with it
Hi to one and all out there in Cyber-land
Well it's been another very busy weekend and yet more new features placed on the website and in the radio toolbar.
What is Twitter?
Twitter is a social-networking and micro-blogging service that lets its users
send and read other users' updates, which are known as tweets. These text-based
messages can't be more than 140 characters long.
You can view updates on your profile page from people you've chosen to follow,
and send updates to people who've chosen to follow you.
Twitter Google Calendar Ok I know you wondering what heck is one of those when it has crawled out of the cupboard.
You will need 1. Google account & 1 Twitter account. Then go to this Twitter service called http://twistory.net and place in your twitter username.
It takes all your tweets from the very first one and archives them into your Google Calendar.
Now one very cool feature is that you can import into the calendar more then one Twitter account, so you can have all your friends tweets combined. Its also a great way to have your tweets backed up.
Another addition, I managed to place the Google Calendar into the Radio Toolbar. All your added twitter friends can tweet away about there latest up and coming events and it auto places those details for everyone to have an overall picture and will help everyone catch up-to-date with what’s going on.
So just what can we do with this once it’s been created, well you can create many different types of Twitter Google Calendars, for instance if your promoting a set amount of Indie and unsigned artists who have placed or use there twitter accounts as a place to input all of there gigs or concerts, you can then have all of them in one place for easy viewing and all the artists are keeping it updated with the very latest updates even if they are on the road touring.
The Google calendar service itself also lets you customise the colours look and feel of the calendars, so it will match in with your website by using the copy paste html code they provide. See here for example … http://radiogetswild.com/Content/pa=showpage/pid=118.html
If you choose the Twitter accounts you add carefully you can create very easily some very impressive, informative & useful calendars
