A singer from Goole is heading for stardom after having her single played on BBC Radio Humberside. Shelly Noon, 22 of Jackson Street, Goole has just released her first single 'Better This Way' which as well as being played on Alan Raw's weekly show on BBC Radio Humberside is now available to download on the internet site myspace. The former Vermuyden school pupil started singing at an early age, appearing in many school plays and concerts.

"I have always had an interest and enjoyed singing and things kind of went from there really," Shelly explained. The singer was introduced to her current manager Bill Kendall when she was in her first band 'Cast a Shadow' and when the band split she joined the girl band 'I Candy' and decided to go solo in early 2006 with the support of Bill.

"The way things are going with the internet these days, hopefully means Shelly will be very successful in her career," Bill said. Shelly describes her style as varied and likes performing different styles from pop and rock to country. "My favourite artist around at the moment is young singer Duffy," she explains. Shelly's new single sees her collaborating with two artists she has never even met in the flesh.

The lead singer of rock band The Masons who hail from Toronto, Canada initially wrote the song and sing the harmony, whilst American rapper Ca$mir from Albany in New York performs the rap and Shelly sings the chorus. The song was recorded in different countries all over the world before eventually being joined together
successfully. The single which aired on BBC Radio Humberside last Sunday is written about an amicable break-up of two people who still love each other but know it's the right time to move on.
