Wild Radio Goes On The Road
Wild radio goes on the road
A GAYTON-BASED radio station is hitting the road and finding new ways to fund it's work with up and-coming artists.
RADIO GETS WILD (RGW) was launched in 1999 and has since given airplay to more then 10,000 indie & unsigned performers to help them on their way to stardom.
The Interactive station has broadcasters based all over the world and loyal listeners in more then 200 countries, but relies on volunteers' help and needs to keep the pennies rolling in if it is to continue.
Station founder Tim Daymond has decided to take the radio gets wild mobile roadshow called melody back on the road to generate some cash and hopes to attend a number of local and national events in the coming months.
Other projects in the pipeline include the lunch of a new record label later this year and the release of the stations third compilation album showcasing the talents of local musicians.
Previous Albums featuring Lynn based Ska band rebelation proved to be a major success and Tim said the album would be sold in around 250 online stores including Itunes.
There are plans to start a new fundraising lottery with tickets to be sold both online and in local shops. And RGW is also on the lookout for companies willing to provide sponsorship.
As well as championing local acts, the station offers people in the community the chance to get involved, learn more about radio broadcasting and even host shows live from their own homes.
