Lisa Lavie 2008 IT"S ON!!!

Hey you guys, It's been forever since my last Newsletter, where do I begin? 2008 It's On!!! For starters, I want to sincerely thank every single person who has stuck by my side through this record making process.

Everyone on youtube, Myspace, and Facebook. You guys are honestly what keep me going at this point. This has not been an Easy journey and I've had to jump through many hurdles to get to this point.
My album is finally done and I'm ready to go, there's only 1 problem,
How do I break through the doors in a music Industry that collapsing right before my eyes? With over 4,000,000 views on youtube & 1,000,000 on myspace you'd think that the Major labels would be clamouring to see what all the talk is about? Well, they have been, but keeping their distance as well.

I was flown out to New York to meet with the President of Universal Records and do a showcase for them. I also did a showcase for the President of Warner Brothers and David Foster here in California. They all seemed to love it, giving me compliments left and right, telling me what a great voice and what great songs I have. There I was thinking "I'm in!!!" "WRONG". They talk up a big game, but no one has the balls to make it happen anymore. All of these execs are scared of taking a chance on someone new just incase it doesn't work and they'd be left job-less.

Maybe I'm not edgy enough? I'm sure if I was taking drugs or getting into catfights with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan at the hot spots in L.A they'd be paying attention to me really quick. Where's the shock value in my project? How bout the fact that I actually write great songs and have a voice that stands out? NOPE, that's not enough. So now it's time to take matters into my own hands. I can no longer wait for this "Major Label" to come along, I need to break the mold of how things were once done and find innovative ways of utilizing the internet and other sources to get my music heard to millions. I'm not doing to bad to date with over 5,000,000 total listeners, but I now need to step up my game.

No more Waiting. 2008 it's on!!! My album is coming out with or without a label to back me up. I'm just waiting on a few key things and then I'm ready to hit on Itunes and prove myself to these men in Suits, hopefully by that time, I will have offers on the table, but the tables would have turned and I won't need them anymore!!!

I want to give a special Thank you to "TEAM LAVIE" <- "haha, that still sounds funny to me". For those of you who don't know who "TEAM LAVIE" is, Well Basically they are my YouTube Family. A group of people who support me Every single day and give of themselves so willingly. A group of people who I love and have a deep appreciation for. Thank you guys for all you've done for me and all you continue doing.

Thank you to everyone who keeps spreading the word about my music. This is a journey that's only just begun and I can't wait to discover what's up ahead. I hope you guys will all join me for the ride!!! 2008 it's on!!!
