Comber releases debut album
The results are a direct reflection of everything the band loves about
alternative rock music. No doubt the project is inspired by a true
passion for alternative rock and the group's desire to produce an album
that goes far beyond today's trend of superficial shock factors which is
subscribed to by most alternative bands.
Comber
was actually formed after Craig had written several songs, with no
intention of forming a band, simply for the sheer love of writing the
music. After his demos garnered the attention of album co-producer Pete
Martin, the decision was made to organize a group to record the
material. Craig called upon a couple of former band mates, added a bass,
and Comber was born. Along the way, each member has made significant
contributions to the band's overall sound.
Comber
Comber
is composed of Craig Wildenradt; guitar/vocals, Kevin Mattison; bass,
Chris Baker; drums, and Gary Schmidt; guitar. Craig, Chris and Gary are
former members of the 90's rock trio Phat Alburt. The guys were writing,
producing and recording their first EP while still in high school; 15
years old to be exact. Kevin was performing with various bands in the
central Florida area when he was 16 years old. Craig wrote his first
musical composition when he was 12.
Their youthful band experience has given them the knowledge needed on
the music side, while Craig and Chris both have their bachelor's degrees
in business, providing the group with useful knowledge on the business
side of music. Additionally, in the studio Craig has three years of
experience working as a recording engineer; Chris has done session work
with multiple artist and bands; Kevin has worked on a recording project
with a former band and Gary has written, produced and recorded a full
length album.
Comber has created an album that can be appreciated from start to
finish; one that is meant to be listened to over and over again. The
album captures the listener with its catchy and thought provoking
composition and arrangements; an element that is missing in most
alternative rock bands nowadays.
Craig stated the direction of the band is one where "We would like to be
an influential band. We intend to be the type of band that isn't just
popular for a few months, but one that is remembered for decades. We
would like to be the type of band that touches the emotions of our
listeners and inspires their hearts. We want to be the type of band that
has a profound impact on the lives of our audience."
