Chivas Regal presents Latin Jazz USA Concert 2006 at the prestigious Town Hall Theater, 123 West 43rd Street, in the Times Square area.

Chivas Regal is proud to sponsor this magnificent Latin Jazz historic event, featuring special guests: The rhythmic, harmonic and melodic joy of Dave Valentine, the legendary Afro Cuban Jazz percussionist Candido Camero, from Yerba Buena, Xiomara, the essential voice of Cuba, the Colombian piano Master Hector Martignon, Top guitarist, bolero, son and latin jazz, vocalist David Oquendo, the bass of John Benitez, Alex Garcia's AfroMantra, Colombian pianist and arranger, Jose Gallegos, Edmar Castañeda and his vibrant harp, all, under the musical direction of Maestro, Edy Martinez and his latin jazz orchestra of 18 musicians.
During this year's Chivas Regal presents Latin Jazz USA Concert 2006, will also be presented The Latin Jazz USA "Chico O'Farrill" Lifetime Achievement Awards to selected Latin Jazz musicians and personalities, that their excellent work have contributed to preserve and expose the musical and cultural values of the Latin Jazz musical genre in the United States and the world. Latin Jazz USA/ Ivan Acosta presents, Candido – Hands of Fire. The Concert - 60 Years of Afro Cuban Jazz

By popular demand the legendary Afro Cuban jazz percussionist Candido Camero, (celebrating his 85th birthday and his 60th anniversary playing in the United States) returns to Miami to offer an extraordinary concert.

On November 4th, at 8pm, the audience at the Olympia Theater at Gusman Center*, 174 E. Flagler St. in downtown Miami, will witness a unique historical event, the Cuban percussionist Candido Camero will make everybody vibrate when he plays his three congas, accompanied by Maestro, German Pifferrer's The Miami Latin Jazz Noneto. With special guest artists, Xiomara, the essential voice of Cuba, ex-Irakere, Manuel Varela, the amazing bolero jazz and son guitarist & vocalist David Oquendo, the composer and guitarist, Juanito Marquez,, Adalberto Lara, "Trompetica" and the Puertorican congas master, Giovanni Hidalgo, amongst other Latin Jazz greats. Viviam Lopez from WDNA will be the M.C.

The Latin Jazz USA "Chico O'Farrill" Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to some personalities of the Latin Jazz and Afro Cuban Jazz musical genre.
